Fiddler Crab

Fiddler crab

rambles sideways

through sea oats

along the dunes

in its circadian lilt,

turning dark

in the day, light

as evening falls.

His foreboding claw

ready to attack

or seduce.

He knows his time

is short,

that size matters,

that waving it

always gets

His burrow

warm, inviting.
